What is Cold Drawn Wire?
Cold drawn wire is a kind of metal wire made by pulling steel wire rods through a wire drawing machine to make them thinner — all done at room temperature. It usually starts with 6.5mm steel wire rods and then is drawn several times after peeling, lubrication, multiple drawing until reaching the desired diameter. The final product is what most people know as iron wire, widely used for nail making and other metal products.
Although the cold drawn wire process is not complicated, the production of high-quality cold-drawing wire requires the selection of high-quality raw materials, cooperation with advanced drawing equipment and strict quality inspection process to ensure stable performance and smooth surface.
